A dull ache at the very back of the jaw is one of the most common reasons people from Akhabar Nagar visit us. Wisdom teeth are the last molars to come through, and they often do not have enough room. When that happens, the gum around them can become sore and the pain can keep returning.
Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out. Some grow in straight and cause no trouble at all. The aim of the consultation is to find out what is behind your pain and whether removal would actually help.
The dentist first examines the area and asks about your health and any medicines you take. A dental X-ray then shows the position of the wisdom tooth, its roots and how close it sits to the tooth in front. This tells us whether the tooth is coming through normally, is partly trapped under the gum or is pressing on its neighbour.
If the tooth is fully visible and causing repeated pain, a simple removal with dental forceps may be all that is needed. If it is trapped under the gum or bone, a surgical removal is planned under local anaesthesia. In both cases the area is numbed and each step is explained before it begins. When infection is present, the dentist may first settle it and then plan the removal. You also receive clear aftercare advice so the socket can heal well.
Meanwhile, keep the back of the mouth as clean as you can. Brush gently around the last molar and use the cleaning method the dentist shows you. Food trapped under a gum flap is a common trigger for fresh flare-ups. If swelling spreads or opening becomes harder, call the clinic without waiting for the next appointment.
Our clinic is at 402, B Square 2, near Double Tree by Hilton, Iskcon–Ambli Road, Ahmedabad 380054. From Akhabar Nagar, take the 132 Feet Ring Road west towards Sola and the SG Highway, then drive south to Iskcon Cross Roads. The clinic is on Ambli Road, a short distance from the crossroads. The drive is about 12 km and usually takes 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic. Book your appointment or call +91-990-964-4344.
